Who Can Enrol in the UEE32220 - Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Brisbane Course?
This course is being offered to qualified electricians who have previously completed a Certificate II in Split Air Conditioning and Heat Pump Systems.
Plumbing professionals may be eligible to complete this qualification if they have previously completed the Certificate II in Split Air Conditioning and Heat Pump Systems qualification as well as a Restricted Electrical Licence course.
UEE32220 - Certificate III in Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Course Outcomes and Qualifications
On successful course completion you will be issued with the qualification UEE32220 – Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration. This is an approved qualification which will enable you to apply for a refrigeration handling licence – RAC01 – Refrigerant Handling Licence with the Australian Refrigeration Council. Students who do not complete the course in full will be issued with a statement of attainment for the competencies achieved.
Students completing this course will also be eligible for a Mechanical Services – Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration – occupational licence with the QBCC and also meet the technical qualifications and experience for Mechanical Services – Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration (Limited Design) licence.

Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Course Purpose
This Certificate III in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Brisbane course is a high level, skilled course for current Certificate II holders who wish to expand their services and skills to satisfy a more comprehensive, higher-level qualification.

Course Prerequisites
To take this course, you must be at least one of the following:
- A qualified electrician who has previously completed Certificate II in Split Air Conditioning and Heat Pump Systems.
- Professional plumbing workers may be eligible to complete this qualification if they have previously completed the Certificate II in Split Air Conditioning and Heat Pump Systems and their Restricted Electrical Licence.
Course Duration
The full duration of this course ranges from 12 to 24 months. However, each student’s course period will be determined during their pre-assessment and RPL (Recognised Prior Learning) status through:
- An RPL conversation
- A face to face interview and skills assessment
- Any additional requirements determined by a trainer during the face to face interview
This course has an online theory component as well as practical training and several assessments. The online theory will need to be completed to demonstrate the student’s understanding of the content involved in each unit. This component can be completed at your own pace, and includes videos created by our trainers to assist you with developing your knowledge and understanding in installing, decommissioning, fault-finding, and repairing of refrigeration and air conditioning systems.

The course cost will be determined on a case by case basis for each student depending on their current experience, qualifications, and ability to demonstrate practical knowledge. Based on your experience and individual training needs the cost of this course starts from $8,950 which may increase with additional face to face training and assessment for electrical gap training and the duration of your training program.
